The History of the Scarsdale Concours

The Scarsdale Concours is produced by Evan Cygler and Denis O’Leary III, both college sophomores and graduates of Scarsdale High School. The show was created in response to three items; (I) a desire to showcase Scarsdale students as part of a constructive and giving community, (II) a passion for great cars – both new and vintage, and (III) the opportunity to raise significant funds for area charities.

“In Fall of 2003 we were talking about doing something fun and worthwhile involving our love of cars, and the simple idea of a car day snowballed into our first Concours. Everyone we talked to loved the idea and we enjoyed active support from numerous constituencies including the police, local government, merchants and car collectors. It was a great lesson that anything is possible. In the past three years the event has raised over $125,000.00 for charities across Westchester County.

“We spend over six months working on the show and it’s a great learning experience. It’s a team event with numerous people deserving credit. We especially want to thank the owners and the attendees—they are the heart of the show.”
